‘You will lose an entire generation’: denying consular services to Ukrainians will disconnect them from the country for 10 years – Razumkov said
23.04.2024 - 23:19The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that it will resume consular services for men of conscription age abroad on May 18, 2024, following the enactment of the mobilization law “taking into account new requirements arising from the provisions of the law.”
This was stated in clarifications published on the ministry’s website.
It is also reported that the ban on consular services only applies to new applications from men of conscription age.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs asserts that documents from new applicants will not be accepted as there is little time left before the law comes into force.
Services for applications submitted before April 23, as well as services for children processed by men of conscription age, will still be provided.
In a letter signed by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sybiga, published by “Mirror Weekly,” it was stated that starting from April 24, it will only be possible to process documents for returning to Ukraine.
