April 23, 2024The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has instructed to cease all consular actions abroad concerning men of conscription age.
In a letter signed by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andriy Sybiga, published by “Mirror Weekly,” it is stated that starting from April 24, it will only be possible to process documents for returning to Ukraine.
“I instruct to temporarily suspend from 23.04.2024 the performance of consular actions on applications from male citizens of Ukraine aged 18 to 60,” the letter signed by Sybiga states.
The exception is consular actions related to issuing identity documents for return to Ukraine.
The directive from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is effective “until additional clarifications on the application of the provisions of the Law of Ukraine on strengthening mobilization” are received, which was announced on April 17 and will enter into force in May.
Earlier reports mentioned the first details of the mobilization law in Ukraine.
It is known that now every Ukrainian will be required to carry a military ID. Every man of conscription age will be required to carry his military ID with him. And to present it upon request to the police, territorial recruitment center staff, as well as border guards – both at checkpoints and in the border zone.
