‘In winter, Ukrainians will be without power for 10 hours,’ – MP says
03.06.2024 23:36The National Guard of Ukraine has canceled the demobilization of soldiers who have been prisoners of war. This cancellation contradicts the new law tightening mobilization, according to which soldiers can demobilize at their own discretion after being released from captivity.
This was reported by Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Honcharenko on his Telegram channel, where he published a screenshot of the order from the department’s commander.

According to Honcharenko, the National Guard of Ukraine “decided to interpret the law in its own way,” despite the law passed by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
“The mobilization law, which came into effect on May 18, 2024, states that those who have been prisoners of war have the right to demobilize. However, the National Guard decided to interpret this law differently. A separate document was issued to the unit, indicating that only prisoners of war who were released after May 18, 2024, are subject to demobilization. This is madness,” the deputy commented on the document.
