District municipalities in Germany are reluctant to accept Ukrainian refugees
22.04.2024 05:03The military aid from the United States will not solve the main problem of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) – the shortage of personnel, so it is “unlikely to fundamentally change the fate of Kyiv.”
This is reported by The Wall Street Journal.
The publication states that Ukraine’s situation on the battlefield is complex, and the Russians have had successes on the front lines in recent months.
“At best, the aid has the potential to help Ukraine withstand Russia’s ruthless attacks and preserve territory, potentially allowing Kyiv to tie down Russian forces until European allies can provide additional assistance next year,” WSJ reports.
At the same time, the new assistance from the United States may compel the Russians to attack faster than they planned. Ukraine, on the other hand, will be able to more confidently repel these attacks using ammunition that was previously conserved.
“However, increasing military supplies cannot help Ukraine address other problems, such as the shortage of personnel,” WSJ adds.
