The State Audit Service of Ukraine confirmed the information about embezzlement in the Ministry of Defense under Resnikov’s leadership
October 31, 2023The United States Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, stated during a hearing in the Senate Appropriations Committee that Russia would win the war if the United States ceased its support for Ukraine.
According to the head of the Pentagon, Russia’s leadership “feels that the West will tire of supporting Ukraine,” and Moscow “will soon prevail.”
“If we do not support Ukraine, then Putin will win,” said the head of the U.S. Department of Defense.
He also emphasized that the current wars, including the one in Ukraine, “will define global security in the coming years,” and Washington’s actions will shape the world that future generations will inherit.
Austin believes that Russia’s main strategy is to “outlast the West.”
Furthermore, Austin is convinced that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is not exaggerating when he predicts Kyiv’s defeat in the event of a cessation of financial assistance from the West. Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois reminded those present at the hearing of Zelensky’s statements made during his visit to Washington.
“Zelensky was clear about this. He reiterated: we will lose this war without financial support from the United States and NATO. Secretary Austin, was he exaggerating?” the legislator asked the head of the Pentagon.
“No, he was not exaggerating, Senator,” replied the head of the U.S. military department.
Austin also noted that supporting Ukraine and Israel is an “investment by the United States in defense and industrial base.”
“This helps us replenish our stockpiles, giving us additional depth and flexibility to do what we’ve done for many years around the world,” the head of the Pentagon said.
He underscored that the United States should continue to support both countries.
