05.08.2024 07:57In Ukraine, military commissars can forcibly detain a conscript under two conditions.
These conditions were stated by soldier Alexander Matsko of the Poltava City Military Commissariat.
According to him, a conscript can be detained in the following cases:
- If the person is wanted for violating military registration rules.
- If representatives of the police are part of the group.
“In other cases, the person can tell you off, turn around, and leave, and there’s nothing we can do,” Matsko said.
It was previously reported that, according to mobilization laws, employees of territorial recruitment centers cannot detain and bring citizens to the military commissariat without police officers, and the police cannot serve draft notices without representatives from the territorial recruitment centers.
Meanwhile, police in Kyiv have started detaining individuals on the streets for not updating their information.
Additionally, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has mentioned that employees of territorial recruitment centers can use force if citizens refuse to comply with their mobilization demands.
