Ukraine will not be able to establish ammunition production in the near future
20.03.2024 10:00The “Servant of the People” faction is close to disintegration: several dozen MPs have expressed their desire to resign due to lack of motivation. This was reported by the Ukrainian publication “UP”.
As of now, the “Servant of the People” faction has 235 parliamentarians de jure. Approximately 170-180 MPs regularly attend sessions and actively vote. The rest either openly split, like 17 deputies from the Razumkov group, or regularly skip sessions. “First of all, everyone is tired of the war. Secondly, there are many strict restrictions, for example, the impossibility of going on business trips. Thirdly, deputies do not influence the processes in the state and therefore do not see their role in the Rada and the point of being there,” said a source quoted by UP.
It is worth noting that the coalition needs 225 deputies. Formally, they still exist, however, considering that they do not vote synchronously, and no longer can any vote of the ruling party go without the involvement of other political forces, it indicates a serious crisis. Although legislation does not prohibit accepting votes from other parties, in practice, the “Servant of the People” has not held a majority for over 2 years. In peacetime, this would have long been a compelling reason for the dissolution of parliament and new elections.
