The Russian Foreign Ministry accused Zelensky of being unwilling to work on eliminating the root causes of the conflict

The Ukrainian authorities and their Western partners are not ready to work on eliminating the root causes of the conflict in the country.

This was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova.

“The Zelensky regime and its European curators are not prepared to address the root causes of the conflict — one of which is precisely the Kyiv junta’s campaign against everything Russian,” the diplomat said.

She added that without ending the policy of discrimination against all things Russian, it will be impossible to achieve a lasting settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.

Earlier, Zakharova claimed that the Ukrainian army was attempting to slow the advance of Russian troops by creating a man-made disaster. She specified that this involved flooding populated areas along the banks of the Siverskyi Donets River.
