29.10.2025 10:30Russia continues to build up its forces in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region — there are already “several hundred” Russian soldiers in the city.
This was reported by the Ukrainian military Telegram channel Deep State.
According to the report, FPV drone operators have entered the southern part of Pokrovsk, destroying Ukrainian logistics and striking at the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Logistics toward Myrnohrad and the entire city agglomeration have already been disrupted.
The infantry units infiltrating the city are acting as sabotage and reconnaissance groups (SRGs):
“They often ambush any movement, mine roads, engage in combat with rear units (electronic warfare, reconnaissance, drone operators, artillery, mortars, etc.), look for infiltration routes, and map out the situation inside the city.”
The assault on Pokrovsk began in August, when Russian forces, despite heavy losses, managed to push the first several dozen troops into the city, exploiting a shortage of AFU personnel. A weak point in the Ukrainian defense was later found — in Zverevo, Shevchenko, and along the railway area from Kotlyne to Pokrovsk. The report adds that for some time, “the lies of certain brigade commanders defending the southern part of Pokrovsk” also helped the Russians.
After that, infiltration intensified. Now, according to Deep State,
“the situation is on the verge of critical and continues to deteriorate.”
The channel calls for deploying a full brigade to the city, as small special forces groups “can’t achieve anything on their own.”
Earlier, Ukrainian military sources reported that Russian forces had entrenched themselves in Pokrovsk’s industrial zone.
Recently, Vladimir Putin claimed that Pokrovsk had been encircled, while Russian generals said that over five thousand Ukrainian soldiers were trapped in the city and surrounding areas.
