‘The time for diplomacy is running out’: Borrell believes that the situation in Ukraine will be resolved on the battlefield within 3 months

The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, stated that the situation in Ukraine “will be resolved within three months.”

At the Munich Security Conference, the head of EU diplomacy was asked about Europe’s capacity to end global conflicts, including in Ukraine.

Borrell indicated that there is no more time for the current approaches to the issue in Ukraine.

“I don’t think that people at the highest political level, the intermediate level, and public opinion understand that we are in a situation that requires a completely different approach. Not just ‘let’s see next month at the meeting of foreign ministers.’ No, in three months, the situation will already be resolved on the battlefield,” the diplomat said.

However, in his opinion, European society has not yet realized that it is “living in a state of war.”

“I think we still don’t understand this, but we need to realize that we are in a state of war. I think that at the highest levels, at the middle levels, and perhaps public opinion, there is not yet a completely new mental attitude,” said the head of the EU diplomatic service.
