The U.S. does not allow Ukraine to use ATACMS strikes on Russian territory due to fears of escalation

The United States does not permit Ukraine to use ATACMS strikes on Russian territory due to concerns about escalation.

This was stated by Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh.

According to her, although Russia has not yet responded to the crossing of “red lines,” there is no guarantee that it will not happen in the future.

“We believe that the best way they [ATACMS] can be effective on the battlefield is to combine these capabilities together and continue pushing back Russian forces to reclaim their sovereign territory. This does not necessarily have to happen by conducting long-range deep strikes inside Russia. And, of course, we are concerned about escalation,” she said at a briefing.
