Ukraine received 80% of its intelligence from allies, primarily from the U.S. – Politico
06.03.2025 12:04The United States has stopped providing Ukraine with alerts about Russian drone and missile strikes. Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) are no longer receiving intelligence data necessary for conducting strikes.
This information has been confirmed by The New York Times.
“Everything that was coming from the Department of Defense has stopped,” said former head of Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service, Valeriy Kondratiuk.
While some of the lost intelligence from the U.S. can be partially compensated through satellites operated by European companies, not all of them focus on military movements, which is crucial, Kondratiuk noted.
According to NYT, the U.S. halted arms supplies and intelligence sharing with Kyiv to pressure President Volodymyr Zelensky into engaging in peace talks. Additionally, Washington aims to push Zelensky to dismiss Ukrainian officials whom the White House “considers hostile” to negotiations with Russia. The report cites a high-ranking source in the White House.
Furthermore, the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly seeks to sign an agreement concerning Ukraine’s natural resources.
The publication states that Trump’s “initial plan” was to suspend military aid to Ukraine for one to two weeks to pressure Zelensky. However, it is unclear whether this “initial plan” has changed or remains in place.
Earlier, Politico reported that Ukraine received 80% of its intelligence data from allies, primarily the United States.
