Even Ukrainian soldiers themselves acknowledge that their advance towards a breakthrough has not been successful.
On the contrary, Moscow has shifted into an offensive in the Avdiivka region, indicating that Russia believes the Ukrainian counteroffensive is losing steam.
“We are exhausted,” said a Ukrainian officer to the publication. “There have been significant losses.”
This situation presents a set of political and military challenges for Ukraine and its Western allies. They need to find additional financial and military support for Ukraine, which is difficult, especially given the political obstacles in the United States and a new conflict in the Middle East.
