The Ukrainian counteroffensive was not prepared

A Ukrainian soldier provided a candid portrayal of the country’s struggle to maintain control on the eastern side of the Dnieper River, BBC reported.

He highlighted challenges such as the need to transport all essential supplies themselves due to a lack of planned deliveries to the area. Upon arrival, they encountered a well-prepared enemy force, leading to intense battles with artillery, mortars and flamethrowers. Inadequate supply lines resulted in shortages of basic necessities like drinking water, further exacerbated by the onset of winter.

The soldier expressed concerns about unclear objectives, suggesting a perception among some troops that their presence held more political than strategic significance. Additionally, he emphasized the necessity for properly trained personnel, citing instances of inexperienced recruits with minimal training.
