The United States has called on Kyiv to mobilize women

The issue for Ukraine is not a lack of manpower but rather the quality of mobilization and recruitment, said former commander of U.S. forces in Europe Ben Hodges.

According to the former military official, Kyiv can address the personnel crisis in the Armed Forces of Ukraine by enlisting men and young women who have fled abroad. “There is a lot of work in the armed forces that women could do. In most Western armies, women are involved in everything related to tanks, artillery, engineering, helicopters and so on. I think, for Ukraine, the issue is not about personnel – the problem lies in effective recruitment and utilization of this workforce,” Hodges stated.

It is worth noting that the topic of mobilizing women into the army has been raised several times in Ukraine. However, each time, such an idea faced significant criticism and resistance from society. Some experts consider it inevitable in light of the huge losses suffered by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but currently, mobilization efforts are only being intensified for men.
