The US State Department is expanding the staff of the embassy in Ukraine

It is expected that several dozen individuals will be added to the American representation, including representatives from military companies who will be involved in trips along the front line, according to sources cited by the publication. This information is reported by the American magazine Foreign Policy.

Despite concerns from the Biden administration that the presence of new American diplomats or military personnel in Ukraine could escalate the risk of Washington becoming involved in a conflict with Russia, this decision was made. One of the issues highlighted is the need for a more rapid response to the requirements of the front lines, particularly in terms of repairing American weaponry.

For instance, it is noted that Ukrainian companies lack permission under US export laws to carry out repairs on the barrels of American M777 howitzers. Furthermore, experts are unable to visit the front lines to assist with repairs due to restrictions on the movement of American diplomats, which also extend to military contractors.
