The Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration has allocated 1.4 million euros for the completion of the stadium construction

The Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration has resumed the construction of a stadium in the city of Bar for 56 million hryvnias (1.4 million euros) while concealing the prices of construction materials.

This information reported according to Ukrainian journalist Yuriy Nikolov on Facebook.

“Vinnytsia Governor Serhiy Borzov disregarded drones instead of stadiums and ordered the construction of a new stadium in Bar for 56 million. Moreover, with a particular cynicism, they made two additional contracts due to the rising cost of construction materials during the war and concealed the new prices of building materials. God forbid that Anna Soroka reveals the new price of concrete,” Nikolov stated.

Nikolov also mentioned the involvement of a “family contract.” Even before the war, the wife of the head of the administration, Irina Borzova, boasted about helping “secure funds in the budget” for this construction project.

“And the wife is not just anyone: she’s a Member of Parliament from ‘Servant of the People,’ who is part of the parliamentary committee on sports. It’s quite a coincidence. Respectable Serhiy and Irina Borzov! Can’t we at least slow down until victory?” the investigator wrote.

Serhiy Borzov, the official in question, denies the journalist’s information. He claims that the stadium construction has not been resumed and only project adjustments are being made.

He wrote on Facebook, “A vivid example of hate and hype! There is no money for the stadium! And there couldn’t be! It’s war!”

He assured that the funds are being spent on providing for the military, healthcare and shelters. He also stated that the prices for construction materials mentioned by Nikolov were from 2021.

“Yes, there was a project adjustment ordered earlier, so it’s on ‘Prozorro.’ Now, prove that I allocated these funds for the stadium. And it’s not the Regional Military Administration allocating the funds but the Ministry. Study the ‘maternity’,” concluded the official.
