“Negotiations on resources will begin if Zelensky changes his position,” – Mike Waltz
03.03.2025 - 15:26Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky deliberately provoked a conflict with the U.S. to renegotiate a rare earth metals deal that he did not want to finalize, according to U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.
This information reported by Reuters.
“Most people only saw the last 10 minutes when the situation spiraled out of control, but those who watched the full video noticed how Zelensky repeatedly provoked the administration in an attempt to revise an already signed deal,” the White House official stated.
Waltz also emphasized that Zelensky’s goal was to secure security guarantees from the United States by using the threat of withdrawing from the agreement as leverage.
Previously, Waltz stated that the U.S. sees no willingness from Zelensky to compromise on resolving the armed conflict. He warned that time is working against Kyiv and that, in the long run, Ukraine is making a significant mistake by refusing negotiations.
