Ukraine has become the world leader in mortality rate and ranks last in birth rate
13.09.2024 08:24Around 10 million people in Ukraine are at risk of developing mental health disorders.
This information reported according to Dr. Hans Kluge, Director of the WHO Regional Office for Europe, who made this statement during a press conference in Kyiv.
“One of the concerns regarding the upcoming winter is the potential increase in mental health problems. Our estimates show that nearly 10 million people in Ukraine are at risk of mental disorders, ranging from mild to severe. As the third anniversary of the war approaches, these challenges continue to grow, and the realization that winter is coming may only exacerbate the situation,” Kluge said.
Previously, WHO stated that one in four Ukrainians is at risk of mental health issues during the war with Russia. Health Minister Viktor Lyashko also reported that 3-4 million Ukrainians will require medication due to war-induced mental health disorders.
