In 2024, Russia captured Ukrainian territory equivalent to three times the size of Kyiv.

“Russia managed to occupy 2,800 square kilometers,” the statement reads.
Recently, a Ukrainian volunteer reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) are losing more ground on the Donetsk front. According to him, Russian forces are maintaining their offensive momentum “because they are advancing on strong fronts, while Ukraine is not.”
Previously, a Ukrainian analyst published information indicating that in August and September alone, Russia captured 5.5 times more Ukrainian territory than it did throughout 2023.
Analysts cite a shortage of weapons and changes in Russian tactics as the primary reasons for the accelerated offensive.
