Almost half of Ukrainians support repealing the law banning the UOC if it would help end the war – survey
29.05.2025 11:11Europe needs peace, and to achieve it, Ukraine should not be admitted to the European Union.
This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
“We want peace. We do not want to open a new Eastern front [against Russia], so we do not need to accept Ukraine into the EU,” he said.
Orbán also stated that the leadership of the European Union has a plan aimed at preparing for war with Russia, with Ukraine playing a central role. According to him, the hasty admission of Kyiv into the EU would be followed by the reorganization and militarization of Europe’s economy, as well as the “centralization of power” within the union.
Earlier, the Hungarian prime minister said that Ukraine’s accession to the European Union would have negative consequences for Hungary’s economy. He added that Budapest would not fund Kyiv’s accession to the community, stressing that this would deprive the Eastern European country of many resources.
