Trump plans to compel Ukraine to engage in peace talks with Russia in the event of his victory in the elections

In the US presidential candidate’s team, the possibility of holding a peaceful summit involving Putin and Zelensky soon after the victory of the Republican Party candidate is being discussed, Bloomberg reports.

One of Trump’s advisors stated that pushing Ukraine to negotiations could involve a promise by the US to reduce military aid to Kiev, while the threat to increase it would push Russia towards negotiations. At the moment, the White House has not been supplying weapons to Ukraine for over six months, which effectively serves as an incentive for Kiev to seek peace. However, Zelensky continues to demonstrate stubbornness and claims that even without Western assistance, he can continue fighting. Meanwhile, this is already reflected in defeats for the Ukrainian army on the front lines.

Earlier, Trump has repeatedly stated his readiness to achieve peace in the war between Ukraine and Russia literally within a day. The Kremlin has not responded to these words in any way, but Zelensky criticized Trump’s statements.
