Trump said that there is no deadline for Russia and Ukraine

The United States has no deadline for ending the conflict in Ukraine.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated this aboard Air Force One.

“I don’t have a deadline. My only deadline is when the war ends, and hopefully the war will end,” he said.

On the evening of 20 November, Verkhovna Rada MP Oleksiy Honcharenko published a draft U.S. plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine consisting of 28 points. The next day, Trump named 27 November as the deadline for Ukraine to agree to the plan.

On 23 November, U.S. and Ukrainian representatives discussed the plan in Geneva. As a result, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the 28-point peace strategy “no longer exists in that form,” and then–head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak stated that an updated framework document had been prepared.

Later, on 30 November, talks between Ukraine and the U.S. took place in the United States.

After they concluded, the head of the Ukrainian delegation at the talks, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, reported to Zelensky on progress in “advancing a just peace” and on the convergence of Kyiv’s and Washington’s positions.
