22.10.2026 06:02U.S. President Donald Trump is hoping to conclude a peace agreement on the war in Ukraine in December at the G20 summit in Miami — on the grounds of his own golf club.
This was reported by The Atlantic, citing sources.
“According to advisers, the president envisions himself standing between Putin and Zelensky as they sign a peace agreement, even if that requires him to pressure Ukraine. This historic event, if it takes place, will be held at one of Trump’s own properties,” the article states.
According to the outlet, this could be preceded by a meeting between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping in November in China. The Atlantic writes that Trump is “taken with the idea” that the three countries “will divide the world into spheres of influence.”
Part of the American president’s inner circle supports such an approach, “dismissively referring to Ukraine as a corrupt province devoid of autonomy.”
A Ukrainian official, according to the outlet, said that Kyiv feels excluded from the decision-making process that will determine the country’s future.
“It seems like all of this is happening without us,” the Ukrainian official said.
Trump had previously called on Ukraine and Zelensky to seek peace.
