In Europe, there is an increasing demand for Ukrainian refugees to provide bank statements showing their account balances
November 5, 2023‘Zelensky has already given instructions to prepare for the upcoming presidential elections in March 2024’, – Ukrainian MP says
November 6, 2023The “grim assessments” provided by the Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhny, regarding the situation on the front line were not a surprise to many Ukrainians.
This information reported according to CNN.
Zaluzhny’s perspective offered a rare alternative to the hopeful statements that have become commonplace from Ukraine’s political leadership. Almost every evening, President Zelensky calls on the public to continue believing in the country’s potential victory. However, for many Ukrainians, this goal still seems unattainable, reports CNN after speaking with Ukrainian citizens.
Among them is the deputy commander of an artillery unit near Bakhmut, who agreed with what Zaluzhny had expressed.
He stated, “Where we stand, we constantly feel the superiority of the Russians both in intelligence and firepower. They have a vast amount of artillery. In terms of accuracy, they fall short, that’s a fact, but in terms of the quantity of ammunition, they surpass us. Especially lately, the difference is noticeable because we are receiving fewer and fewer munitions.”
This military officer praised Zaluzhny’s candor, saying the general “dared to say that he made a mistake. That takes a lot. You have to be a brave person to admit that the plan failed.”
Other Ukrainians interviewed by CNN had mixed views. On one hand, they agreed that President Volodymyr Zelensky’s constant talk of victory is inspiring to the country’s residents. On the other hand, many believe that many problems are being suppressed, such as issues related to mobilization and the readiness of reserves, which is causing “fewer and fewer people to be willing to fight.”
