23.09.2025 11:31Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has expressed doubt that the war in Ukraine will end soon.
His remarks came during an interview with Fox News.
“I don’t really believe this will happen,” Erdoğan said when asked whether the war might end in the near future.
The Turkish president also stated that Europe’s support for Ukraine “will not be eternal,” adding that Ukraine itself would not be able to compete economically with Russia.
Earlier, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said the war in Ukraine would continue for at least another two years. According to her, the conflict has reached a stalemate, while Russia is acting more boldly — as demonstrated by the recent incursion of Russian drones into Poland.
Meanwhile, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said he believes “the war in Ukraine may last many more months.”
