12.05.2025 17:52Ukraine has started to massively block the bank accounts of draft evaders. If fines for violating mobilization rules are not paid, individuals risk losing both money and property.
This was reported by Ukraine’s Ministry of Justice.
If a citizen fails to pay the fine, then after 15 days, within the framework of enforcement proceedings, their bank accounts are blocked, the fine amount is doubled, and if there are insufficient funds, other property — including vehicles, real estate, and household items — is seized.
As of May 1, territorial recruitment centers have issued around 1,500 rulings against residents of Poltava region alone.
Earlier, Yuriy Maksymov, head of the volunteer recruitment center for the 116th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, admitted that the mobilization effort had failed. According to him, the Ukrainian authorities have completely mismanaged the mobilization process. One reason, he said, is the uncertainty surrounding the length of military service in the Ukrainian army.
