Drones instead of ammunition: Ukraine produces drones at small enterprises to avoid being targeted by Russia
03.02.2024 13:55The authorities of Ukraine have informed the U.S. administration about the decision to dismiss the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi.
This was reported by The Washington Post.
According to the publication, American officials did not support this decision but also did not object to it, stating that it is President Zelensky’s right to make such decisions.
“The Ukrainian government informed the White House that President Volodymyr Zelensky decided to dismiss his Chief of the General Staff, General Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, which will be the most significant personnel reshuffle during the entire war, two people familiar with the discussion said,” the publication states.
In the West, it is believed that although the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, remains in his position, “speculation about an apparent rift between him and President Volodymyr Zelensky—largely based on anonymous accounts—has exposed possible cracks in the country’s leadership.” This was reported by NBC News in an article titled “Uncertain future of Ukrainian general deepens doubts about his fight against Russia,” dedicated to the topic of Zaluzhnyi’s possible dismissal.
At the same time, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Alexei Danilov, assured that there is no document regarding the dismissal of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
