“Ukraine has secretly held direct talks with Russia throughout the war”, – says MP

Representatives of the Ukrainian government have been holding direct, secret negotiations with Russia throughout the entire course of the war.

This was reported on Telegram by Oleksiy Honcharenko, a member of parliament from the “European Solidarity” party.

According to him, the talks took place “not once, not twice, and not even three times,” but repeatedly — in 2022, 2023, and even in 2024.

“The delegations were of a very high level. The meetings took place on the Arabian Peninsula. (Yes, there are several countries there where such things can happen quietly, without cameras.) So if someone now starts shouting about the ‘impossibility’ of direct negotiations — just know: they’ve already happened. More than once,” Honcharenko wrote.

At the same time, the MP emphasized that all of the negotiations “failed,” although he did not specify the reasons.

As a reminder, former U.S. President Donald Trump recently wrote that Ukraine should “immediately” agree to the direct negotiations proposed by Russia.
