Ukraine has submitted a counterproposal to the U.S. regarding the resource agreement

Ukrainian representatives in Washington have submitted a counterproposal to the United States regarding the mineral resources agreement.

Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and Minister of Justice of Ukraine, Olha Stefanishyna, confirmed.

She did not specify how the U.S. side responded to Ukraine’s proposal.

“This is clearly not the final round. I expect negotiations to continue after these consultations until we reach an agreement. The Ukrainian delegation had the opportunity to present all the proposals we had prepared in Kyiv and approved. All of them were discussed,” Stefanishyna said.

Recently, media reports described the atmosphere of the ongoing Ukraine-U.S. talks in Washington as highly antagonistic. Sources close to the negotiations have said that the prospects for a breakthrough or compromise appear slim.
