25.09.2026 10:35Head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund and special representative of the Russian president Kirill Dmitriev met in New York with U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
This was reported by CNN.
According to the network, the parties discussed U.S.-Russia cooperation and a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine at the meeting. CNN’s sources specified that Dmitriev traveled to New York to continue peacemaking efforts and the Russian-American dialogue following Vladimir Putin’s meeting with U.S. envoys earlier this month.
On the eve of Dmitriev’s visit, on Wednesday, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
Following the previous visit by Kushner and Witkoff to Moscow, Putin and Trump held a phone call. During the conversation, Trump expressed interest in a breakthrough on the Ukraine settlement being achieved during his presidency.
Following these contacts, the Kremlin stated that Russia does not rule out the resumption of trilateral talks on Ukraine in October.
