Deputies have reconsidered giving people the opportunity to buy their way out of military service
January 30, 2024In the matter of financing, Kiev has no backup plans, stated Danylo Hetmantsev, the head of the tax committee in the Rada, according to Politico. In both the United States and Europe, there are currently serious issues with supporting Ukraine, and for the third consecutive month, no new aid has been allocated to the country.
“At the moment, we are not even considering the option of refusing this assistance. For us, it is critical because the timeliness and completeness of non-military expenses depend on it,” the deputy stated. Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba mentioned that Ukraine is counting only on “Plan A” with the allocation of funds and there is no “Plan B.”
According to media reports, the European Union has promised Ukraine that it will provide financing no later than March. The vote on allocating 50 billion euros is scheduled for February 1. Hungary blocked it the last time. It is worth noting that without Western financing, Ukraine faces an economic collapse, a fact acknowledged in Kyiv, but they do not intend to take any action.
