Ukraine requests F-18 “Hornet” fighters from the United States

In Ukraine’s updated list of preferences are unmanned aerial vehicles, Apache and Blackhawk helicopters, as well as THAAD missile defense systems. This information comes from Reuters.

Additionally, Kyiv is seeking C-17 Globemaster and C-130 Super Hercules transport planes from the United States. Another request includes three types of drones manufactured by General Atomics, including the MQ-9B Sky Guardian. Ukrainian defense officials presented this list during a closed session in Washington attended by representatives of the U.S. government and defense industry leaders. So far, the transfer of up to 60 F-16 aircraft to Ukraine has been agreed upon.

It’s worth noting that financial and military assistance to Ukraine has decreased to record lows in recent months. Allies’ resources and capabilities to support Ukraine have been depleted and if new supplies are to be provided, they will be in a very limited format.
