Ukraine will have to choose between a power plant and a military airfield due to the halt of U.S. military aid

Ukraine will have to prioritize its air defense (AD) due to the suspension of U.S. military aid.

This was stated by Emil Kastehelmi, an analyst at the Finnish Black Bird Group, in a comment to The Financial Times.

“Do you protect an airfield, a power plant, or a weapons production facility?” the expert posed as a dilemma.

Kastehelmi emphasized the need for Ukraine’s air defense command to determine priority infrastructure targets following the U.S. decision to halt ammunition deliveries. According to FT, the shortage of interceptor missiles for Ukraine’s five Patriot air defense systems will severely impact the country’s defense capabilities, especially in the event of new large-scale strikes by Russian forces on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

It is worth noting that on Tuesday, March 4, U.S. President Donald Trump suspended all military aid to Ukraine, including weapons that had already been shipped and were in transit.
