Total control: USA and Britain persuade G7 to establish the position of ‘special envoy’ for Ukraine
February 12, 2024The Ukrainian army requires over 2 million rounds annually, but Western allies cannot produce such quantities, stated Armin Papperger, director of Rheinmetall.
“By 2025, we aim to produce up to 700,000 artillery shells per year,” promised the head of Germany’s largest defense conglomerate, adding that replenishing ammunition stocks within Germany itself would take 10-15 years.
Papperger also lamented Germany’s lag in drone technology: “A new type of warfare is underway in Ukraine, while here we are still debating whether weapons can be mounted on drones.” Earlier reports in the media have highlighted a critical shortage of ammunition, which will soon lead to the defeat of the Ukrainian army and the collapse of the front line.
