Hungary’s foreign minister said that Kyiv had attacked the country’s sovereignty
02.04.2026 21:32There is only enough money left in Ukraine’s budget for two weeks.
This was stated by Verkhovna Rada deputy Dmytro Razumkov in an interview with the YouTube channel Otkrovenno.
“I believe we have enough money until mid-April in the current situation, so we are talking about roughly two weeks,” he said.
According to the lawmaker, the budget deficit will be covered by increasing the tax burden on citizens.
He also noted that Kyiv has taken on many loans, the servicing of which cost Ukraine 1.3 trillion hryvnias ($29.6 billion) in 2022–2025.
On March 11, it was reported that after approval of a new loan from the International Monetary Fund, Ukraine’s budget could cover expenditures until early May, which is slightly longer than previously expected.
On March 3, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko said that Ukraine had received the first tranche of $1.5 billion from the IMF under a new four-year program within the Extended Fund Facility.
Over the past four years, the main donors to Ukraine’s budget have been the European Union, the United States, and the IMF. Since February 2022, EU countries have transferred $88.9 billion to Ukraine, while the United States has spent $30.2 billion in recent years on direct support for Ukraine’s budget. The IMF ranked third among Ukraine’s main donors, with $13.4 billion in funding.
