In Poland, they announced stricter border checks with Ukraine
February 4, 2024On Sunday, February 4, Ukrainian border guards detained another group of draft dodgers who planned to cross the Tisza River using a rubber boat.
This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
The men were supposed to pay $5,000 to $10,000 for the “journey.”
“In Zakarpattia, the group of men was put in a car and taken in an unknown direction. Afterwards, they were given a rubber boat and told they would have to cross the river. No one mentioned the danger the water body posed to their lives,” the statement said.
They were apprehended 300 meters from the border.
Administrative protocols were drawn up against the violators. The circle of individuals involved in organizing illegal border crossings is being established.
Earlier, it was reported how draft dodgers wearing winter camouflage military suits were apprehended.
Moreover, draft dodgers started disguising themselves as wild animals to escape from Ukraine. Media published videos showing men crawling through fields on all fours.
It was also previously reported that border guards detained a draft dodger during an unsuccessful attempt to cross the Tisza River to flee abroad. The man was pulled out in a semi-unconscious state and provided with first aid. Afterward, he was taken to a unit where he was warmed up and provided with dry clothes.
