Ukrainian diplomats distributed China’s peace plan with their comments at the UN – Politico

Ukrainian diplomats have circulated China’s ‘peace plan’ to end the war, along with their comments, at the UN.

This was reported by “Politico”.

The plan proposes stopping the war along the current front lines as soon as possible, as well as “taking into account the security interests of each side.”

The document states that Beijing plans to involve around 20 countries in New York “to form a group that can quickly expand in the future to include other countries in Africa, Latin America, and Asia.”

A European source confirmed that the Chinese plan has been discussed. The U.S., along with Ukraine, does not support this plan.

The Ukrainian authorities are concerned about this plan, writes the publication.

“Volodymyr Zelensky used his speech at the General Assembly on Wednesday to denounce the peace plan of China and Brazil as a ‘colonial’ attempt. Ukrainian diplomats are also urging American lawmakers to officially reject China’s plan. China’s attempt to gain India’s support could create serious problems for Ukraine. Kyiv had hoped that New Delhi would help negotiate a peace pact that it could accept. If China manages to garner support from a large group of countries, Beijing could present it as proof that the ‘global majority’ backs Beijing’s terms for peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, according to the document circulated by Ukrainian diplomats at the UN,” writes *Politico*.

The official presentation of China’s peace negotiation plan could take place next month at a meeting of the leaders of BRICS countries in Kazan.

Earlier, it was reported that Brazil also plans to present its plan at a meeting of countries of the “Global South,” where the West has not been invited.
