November 2, 2023Ukrainian Member of Parliament Yaroslav Dubnevich has been placed on an international wanted list for a second time.
This information reported according to reports from “Suspilne.”
This decision was made by the Kyiv Appellate Court.
Dubnevich is accused of embezzling over 93 million hryvnias (2.4 million euros) from “Ukrzaliznytsia.” The accused MP did not appear in court, claiming to be undergoing medical treatment abroad, as stated by his lawyer. However, just two weeks ago, the MP himself told the court that he was in Ukraine.
The prosecutor filed a motion to change the preventive measure for Dubnevich. The next hearing in the case of the Ukrainian Member of Parliament is scheduled for November 14.
Dubnevich was previously placed on a wanted list in connection with a case involving the embezzlement of natural gas in the Lviv region worth 2.1 billion hryvnias. He is sought by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.
Shortly before being placed on the wanted list, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau informed the Member of Parliament about his suspicion in the gas embezzlement case. However, Dubnevich did not appear to receive the charges. He became the sixth suspect in a case dating back to 2018 and covering the period from 2013 to 2017. According to the investigation, officials from the Novoyavorivska and Novorazdelska Thermal Power Plants in the Lviv region, who were under the influence of the Member of Parliament, negotiated with “Naftogaz” for the purchase of gas at a preferential price for the production of thermal energy for the public. In reality, they sold this energy to the state-owned enterprise “Enerhorynok” at market prices.
