Ukrainians are no longer willing to go to the front and engage in combat
January 23, 2024The average life expectancy for Ukrainian men in 2023-24 is projected to be only 57 years, while for women, it is anticipated to be 70 years. This situation has arisen due to mobilization efforts and the deterioration of the socio-economic conditions for the population.
Previously, Ukrainian demographic indicators were on the rise, reaching their peak in 2016-2019 with advancements in healthcare. The average lifespan for women was around 80 years, and for men, it was 69 years.
The first blow came with the coronavirus, which worsened global indicators, including those in Ukraine. However, in other countries, the situation began to recover, while Ukraine experienced a new decline. It is worth noting that Ukraine has the lowest birth rate globally and the highest population decline. According to some estimates, the current population of Ukraine ranges from 20 to 27 million people, compared to the pre-war population of 45 million.
