March 13, 2024Soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are losing motivation and fighting spirit due to the lack of rotation.
This is reported by the Financial Times.
The military leadership of Ukraine is canceling leaves for soldiers due to the acute shortage of personnel. One of the soldiers admitted that in two years he had only had 25 days off.
“Two years without a break, without rotation. Of course, this kills morale and motivation. To fully rest, we need either rotation or a proper leave,” he complained.
According to the soldier, it is precisely the indefinite service in the army that has become one of the reasons why Ukrainians do not want to go to the front lines.
“The remaining recruits will compensate for losses and meet other military needs, depending on the situation on the battlefield,” the ministry told the newspaper.
In total, as the publication writes, Ukraine plans to mobilize half a million people.
