Ukrainian military report full Russian capture of the high-rise district in Kurakhove

In the city of Kurakhove, Donetsk region, Russian forces have fully taken over the high-rise residential area, while Ukrainian forces now only control the industrial zone of the Kurakhove thermal power station (TPS).

This was reported by a Ukrainian Armed Forces fighter with the call sign “Muchnoy” on his Telegram channel.

“Leaving this area is only an option if the enemy captures the village of Dachne, located near the Kurakhove-Zaporizhzhia highway. Today, the enemy is attacking in that direction and trying to gain a foothold in the outermost houses,” the soldier reported.

Additionally, he noted that Russian forces have entered the village of Zelenivka, southwest of Kurakhove, leaving them just over three kilometers from the highway coming from Zaporizhzhia. If the Russians secure their position in Zelenivka, “the Kurakhove pocket will soon form,” Muchnoy speculated.

Meanwhile, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces denies that Russian forces have captured the entire high-rise zone in Kurakhove.

“The Russian army is attempting to take control of the road junction and the multi-story residential area in the southern part of the city,” stated the General Staff, adding, “The command is taking all necessary measures, considering the difficult situation.”

Earlier, a UAF officer accused the command of incompetence and sabotage, which led to Ukrainian defensive forces being surrounded near Kurakhove.
