Mendel: Zelensky will try to shift blame onto Trump for shortage of Patriot missiles
20.08.2026 11:31Verkhovna Rada deputy Anna Skorokhod has claimed that Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatyi and head of the Ukrainian General Staff Ihor Skibyuk are profiting from the sale of command positions in the army.
This was reported by media outlets.
Skorokhod made the statement in an interview with journalist Vitaliy Dykyi.
“Nobody understands what is happening or what game Drapatyi and the new head of the general staff are playing. Moreover, information reached me recently that they are trading positions and appointments. It has gotten to the point where they don’t know what to do with this power that has suddenly come into their hands, specifically how to monetize it as quickly and effectively as possible,” the deputy said.
According to Skorokhod, positions are being sold including at territorial recruitment centers — the structures that perform the functions of military commissariats in Ukraine.
Earlier, Rada deputy Oleksandr Kachura also spoke about corruption in the Ukrainian army. According to his information, the position of head of a regional military commissariat costs around €129,000.
On July 22, Volodymyr Zelensky officially removed Oleksandr Syrsky from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and appointed Drapatyi in his place. By separate decrees, he also dismissed the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrii Hnatov and appointed Skibyuk in his place.
