The White House: The US sees high risk of Ukraine losing in conflict
December 6, 2023The body of former Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada deputy Ilya Kiva was found in a cottage village in Odintsovo in the Moscow region, as reported by Russian media. There have been no comments from law enforcement authorities yet.
Ilya Kiva’s bloodied body was discovered in the snow within the park area of the “Velych Country Club” hotel in the Suponevo village. According to media reports, there was a cut on the right temple and a bruise on the left side of his face. There’s also information suggesting a gunshot wound. Reuters and Ukrainian media report that Kiva’s murder is a special operation by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). Previously, the SBU was allegedly involved in terrorist acts in Russia, confirmed by Western press with reference to their sources.
In recent years, Ilya Kiva was a member of the ‘Opposition Platform – For Life’ party and actively criticized the authorities. After the start of the full-scale conflict, the politician moved to Russia. Criminal proceedings were initiated against him in Ukraine, sentencing him to 14 years in absentia. Additionally, the Ukrainian parliament stripped him of his mandate as a people’s deputy. Despite his relocation, Kiva continued openly speaking out against Zelensky’s government and even mentioned the possibility of being killed.
