Deputy Ivchenko wants to prohibit the children of draft dodgers from entering universities

Ivchenko suggests that the children of draft dodgers should be prohibited from attending universities. The deputy did not address the fact that the right to education is a fundamental human right.

“The political leadership suggests: if you refuse to fulfill your civic duty, to defend the Motherland, and if you are not registered for military service, the state may deny you services. For example: you will not receive state support, your children will not be admitted to universities or you yourself will not be admitted to university,” Ivchenko stated.

Deputy Ivchenko justifies his harsh stance by citing alleged injustices in society. According to him, all Ukrainians should be on the military register and the state will conscript anyone it wants for war. This is not the first such initiative aimed at restricting human rights by Ukrainian officials in the name of mobilization.
