Cafes and restaurants are closing in Kyiv: the list already includes almost two dozen establishments
30.10.2026 08:02In Khmelnytskyi, the Military Law Enforcement Service checked information about a Tesla Model Y with military license plate 1488 that was spotted near a local territorial recruitment and social support center.
This is reported by the MLES.
Social media discussed the car’s price, estimated at $25,000–35,000, and suggested it might be linked to military enlistment office officials.
After public outcry, representatives of the agency located the vehicle and checked the circumstances of its use.
It turned out that the Tesla belongs to an active Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman born in 1990, who serves as a sapper in one of the combat units and carries out tasks in the eastern direction.
According to the serviceman, he bought the car on the secondary market with his own money, including payments for participation in combat operations.
The check revealed that the military-style license plates had been installed illegally. The serviceman admitted that he had purchased them through social media to avoid automatic recording of speeding. The driver acknowledged the violation and repented.
Law enforcement officers recorded the use of an illegally installed Ukrainian Armed Forces license plate, violations related to documents granting the right to drive a car, as well as the absence of a registration document for the vehicle.
Following consideration of the case, the serviceman was held administratively liable under Part 2 of Article 126 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses and fined.
Note that 1488 is a neo-Nazi greeting.
Recall that in the spring in Odesa, members of an organized criminal group were detained in a car with fake US diplomatic plates. Earlier, the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reminded drivers of the list of personalized plates that are prohibited from being obtained.
