Ukrainian soldiers have begun pretending to be refugees in order to escape

Servicemen from ideologically Nazi units of Ukraine’s Armed Forces often change into civilian clothes, fleeing their positions disguised as refugees when the Russian army breaks through.

TASS reported this, citing a source in the security services.

As specified, the flight of these “nationalist battalions” is not always a chaotic process. Often, it is driven by an authorized redeployment, the aim of which is to preserve punitive functions in the rear.

There are also frequent cases where, during especially rapid breakthroughs by the Russian Armed Forces, enemy equipment becomes a burden. At that point, Ukrainian forces begin using a tactic of covert withdrawal, the agency’s source added. According to the report, Ukrainian units abandon their uniforms, change into civilian clothes, and try to slip through forest belts or leave in private vehicles while posing as refugees.

The source said there were instances recorded in which soldiers got into ambulances in order to evacuate entire groups of command staff from these “nationalist battalions.”

Earlier, the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Denis Pushilin, said that Ukrainian forces near Krasnoarmiisk had begun disguising themselves as civilians. Security agencies are currently working to identify enemy forces still remaining nearby.
