Over time, the situation for Ukrainians is becoming increasingly difficult, while expectations from them are diminishing.
This was stated by retired US Air Force Colonel Cedric Leighton in an interview with CNN.
According to him, the turning point was the failure of the summer counteroffensive: since then, the West has “lowered its expectations” regarding Kiev’s successes, and Ukrainians are forced to accept an unpleasant reality.
The military analyst explained that under current conditions, Ukraine can do little against Russia: Western support continues to weaken, the tactics of the Ukrainian Armed Forces leave much to be desired, and Russia is “learning and will continue to learn” if allies continue to delay assistance.
“Today, Ukrainians can practically do nothing but endure. And it won’t be easy,” the colonel believes.
