Sneaked underground: Bild reports on the advance of the Russian army south of Avdiivka
January 25, 2024Ukrainians are leading among foreigners in Poland in terms of the number of committed crimes.
This is reported by the Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita.
The publication notes that this is related to the scale of migration, which intensified after the invasion of the Russian Federation. Ukrainians make up more than half of all foreigners who have been accused (a total of 17,278 people) in the past year. Georgians (2,714) and Belarusians (1,030) are in second and third place, respectively.
Ukrainians are particularly prone to committing offenses under the influence of alcohol (about 70% of the total). Drunk driving is becoming an increasingly serious problem.
“In Poland, there are 2.5 million Ukrainian citizens, so this phenomenon is a matter of scale. Perhaps they drink more, more often, and pay less attention to the condition in which they get behind the wheel. This may be related to various issues, including cultural ones,” said Miroslav Skurka from the Association of Ukrainians in Poland.
