‘Confiscation of Russian assets will not save Ukraine’, – Bloomberg
January 25, 2024The Russian Armed Forces are gradually advancing in the south of Avdiivka.
This information reported according to military expert Julian Repke, analyzing videos on the internet.
“Russia is moving forward in several areas. The creeping takeover, similar to Bahmut, is ongoing. After the breakthrough of the Russian front in the south of Avdiivka, another part of the city has come under the control of the invading army. During the attack, some Ukrainian units were cut off and subsequently taken prisoner,” he writes.
The military head of the city, Vitaliy Barabash, confirmed to AFP that Russian special forces entered the southern part of Avdiivka but stated that they have already been pushed out. Military sources also reported the same.
Currently, the situation is “complex but under control,” and the “enemy continues to attack.” According to Barabash, this was the “first time” that Russian troops entered the city.
Russian Telegram channels claim that the Russian army managed to infiltrate the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ rear in Avdiivka near “Tsarska Okhota” through an underground pipe. Allegedly, Russian military personnel spent several weeks clearing the found pipe, equipped it with oxygen supply and cut passages. On January 17, about 150 people crawled through the two-kilometer pipe, seized “Tsarska Okhota,” and several streets in Avdiivka. Ukraine has not confirmed this operation.
